Oh yeah.. Halloween.

So of course now that it's almost Thanksgiving.. I'm going to blog about Halloween.

I wish I was a real blogger that did stuff like.. I don't know.. consistently blogged.
That would be weird huh.. :)
But with everything in life going on and being so busy lately.. I have to keep saying maybe someday..
I love documenting life and getting to share what's going on with the people that I love that I can't be with everyday.. SO I will keep trying.
Thanks for bearing with me.

So like many of you know.. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays because it also happens to be my birthday!

& This year for Halloween/My Birthday we actually spent it in San Antonio the night before Blake's Optometry school interview..
So leading up to Halloween we still tried to make time to celebrate.

My mom is the cutest woman in the whole world.. and last year sent us a halloween package for these cute little guys in it..

So one night after I got off of work late and was basically already in bed..
I had been telling Blake I wanted to do something fun so he pretty much drug me out of bed, turned on/up the music..
& we danced and sang and decorated halloween cupcakes together.

& Blake kept me laughing almost an hour straight.. I love this silly guy.

& Of course.. it wouldn't be halloween without a little
pumpkin carving.
:)

[[What a handsome boy.. I don't know why but I love this picture of him]]

As you can see Blake's a little faster than me.. at everything.. he just goes at life and free hands it and I'm a little bit more of a perfectionist and need a plan and to map everything out before I actually do it..
But eventually both pumpkins got carved.. so that's all that matters right?

Then, one of my favorite Halloween traditions.. the costumes.

We tried to keep our costumes cheap and easy this year so we made them together and it suprisingly was a lot of fun.
[[as well as a good excuse to put off homework and spend some time together..]]
:)

& We actually were pretty excited about our costumer this year....
We went as people on Publishers Clearing House..
[The TV show where they bring a giant check to someones house and suprise them .]

We can at least pretend to be rich.. right?

These are our friends Buzz and Jess.. they just escaped from an insane asylum so we decided to take them in.
Becuase didn't Jesus say to love everyone?

Then after our little Halloween party..
[Blake kept telling me that we needed to go home because he was SO sick all of the sudden and was going to throw up]
So we rush home.. and to my suprise there was a full house!

Blake and my cute sister in law
[who had actually left before I thought to take a picture]
had planned a suprise party for me!

And man was I suprised/scared.. I even screamed when we opened the door..
Also do you know who else left before I took a picture.. our friends that were actually dressed up so I'm glad I get to be in my bath robe and curlers with all of these good looking people. haha
I love you guys thanks for a great birthday!

It definitely was a good Halloween season, even though next year hopefully the actual day might get to be little more traditional.

I hope that everyone had a good Halloween & that the holidays are treating everyone well!

Lone Star State.. Here We Come!

So isn't it funny how life is..
You definitely have to have the bad to really experience and appreciate the good..
& Since last post was kind of a sad one for me..
I'm SO over joyed to announce that this one is SUCH a happy one..

Blake got into Optometry School!!
:)

& Not just any Optometry School.. our first pick Optometry School in San Antonio.
I still am kind of in shock to be honest.. we didnt' think that we would even know where we were going until December or January..

But I am extremely grateful and proud of that smart sweet husband of mine.. he really has worked hard for it and trust me.. together we have endured/shared significant amounts of stress and pep talks.. and it is so relieving to see everything coming together.

So next July if everything goes right... We are moving to SAN ANTONIO!
:)

We actually got to go visit a couple of weeks ago so that Blake could interview.. since it was our first choice [& since we were leaving on my birthday..] I got to go with him!
& We [especially Blake] definitely fell in love with the city..

So like I said before we actually flew out on my birthday.. so when we got there..
[also.. can I just point out that it was 80 something degrees when we got there.. awe.some.]
We found a Sonic and cruised around town with our a/c on just exploring the city..
[I love Sonic.. it kind of reminds me of my sweet New Mexican home town.. so that was a good start to our trip..]

I will say that San Antonio is definitely a lot
BIGGER [like twice as big as Salt Lake City bigger
than I pictured.. so we will see how we do with the city life. That was the only thing I was a little apprehensive about..

So after exploring we decided we were going to splurge and go somewhere nice on the riverwalk for my birthday..
I don't know if you have been to the San Antonio Riverwalk.. but it was literally breathtaking.
Blake and I both were pretty convinced we wanted to live there as soon as we started walking down it.

[I told him.. it's like real life Disney Land. :)]

Then we had the most expensive romantic dinner I have ever had in my entire life!

We went to Bella by the River and had dinner on the river by candle light with live music..

Oh I could have died and gone to heaven.. warm weather, my cute husband, awesome food, and such a romantic atmosphere.. definitely the way to my heart.

Then Friday Blake had his interview [which obviously MUST have gone good.. right?]
But he was so stinking nervous.. I felt horrible he seemed sick about it.
& Then when he came back it was like a weight had lifted he loved the school, he loved the teachers, and he loved the people that he met that went to school there when he was interviewing.

After he came back from his interview [& DAY long campus tour/school presentation]..
He was positive this was where he wanted to go to school and kept talking about how much he hoped he would get in.
:)

Then Saturday [our last real day there] we got to go explore!
I was brainstorming of things that I would really regret that we didn't see later if we didn't end up moving here and never came back.. and one thing came to my mind of course..
The Alamo!

So we got to spent the morning exploring this beautiful historical monument..

Watching demonstrations and inactments, documentaries, and definitely starting to understand why someone would have
Texas pride..

These were amazing heros that fought and died for what they believed in and I loved getting to come and experience a part of this place.

& Then because we couldn't stay away we went back to the Riverwalk and walked around had lunch and Blake let me shop to my hearts content..

[Have I ever mentioned how much I love this sweet guy..I'm constantly suprised at how good he is to me.. & this day when he was holding all of my clothes I wanted to try on/or had recently bought and waiting outside of dressing rooms.. and didn't even complain once I was reminded how lucky I am]

& Then after we were both worn out from clothes buying Blake and I got ICE CREAM,
[yes at the begining of NOVEMBER] & went and sat outside on the warm steps and listened to this live instrumental
[drums.. folk musically sounding] band..

Oh this city is so beautiful and ALIVE to me..
& I kept wishing that this afternoon would never end.
Can we stay forever?

Unfortunately the answer on this trip was no...
[& That was probably okay this time because I was missing all of our loved ones back in our freezing cute little Idaho town..]

But we sure are in love with the city of San Antonio and excited for our adventures there!

And luckily.. our trip sure finished with quite the morning..
Daylight savings was the Saturday night before we were leaving and our phones didn't change!
So Blake I accidentally woke up at 2 in the morning to not miss our flight..

When we were about out the door I was like Blake our phones would have changed right? Because that would stink if we missed out on an hour of sleep..
So while he was on is way to check out he turned his phone on and off again and sure enough.. we had woken up an hour too early. :(

But we were already packed and checked out so we decided to go anyway..
We were the ONLY living souls in the airport except for security..
We walked straight through security.. definitely no wait. In fact the security workers were laughing at us and figuring we woke up a little too early.
:)

But it definitley made us laugh..
& Luckily we didn't miss our flight.

& Who can say that they were absolutely all alone in an airport before.. :)
SO I think the trip was a success..
But you can bet next Daylight Savings I am double checking our clocks before I get up..

Thanks everyone for all of the prayers and support while Blake has been applying for/interviewing to get into Optometry School.
I really do beleive that it made all of the difference. I can't believe how blessed we are with the kind people in our lives... we really didn't think we would know where we were going for a few more months so I know that so I know that there must have been some divine intervention.

I love you guys. & Am so grateful to have gotten to share this journey in our life so far with you.. thanks for everything.
:)
