So after an awesome graduation for my old brother and a really great Farmington Reception thanks to great family and friends..

[THANK YOU.. by the way]

I am back to life now, back to work, and back to blogging..

[dangit. haha.It definitely wasn't a long enough break Blake & I are already missing the family]

& I am going to catch up on all of the fun things going on.. hopefully in the next... year.. or so.

just kidding.

Hopefully in the next couple of weeks!

So back to Puerta Vallarta 

 

When we got there we were seeing all kinds of awesome sculptures and cool things on the side of the beach but we were terrified to let them see us taking pictures because  

there hadn't seemed to be a person in Mexico who didn't want a tip for what the were doing or selling or making, or for you looking at them, or even walking by them..

But to our surprise the people that we were around in Puerta Vallarta were a little more relaxed and not always yelling at you.. 

[now don't take that as it didn't happen.. haha there was still some yelling to buy things.. just not as much]

& we got to explore some pretty cool things...

Some of these people had crazy talents,

Can you see the rocks piled in the back and how that tiny pebble is balancing those 3 rocks together?!

Blake and I had to sit and watch him stack his rocks together for a little while..

We had never seen anyone do anything like that before!

It's pretty cool to me that people do amazing things like this in their day to day life just on the side of the road!

After our Tour of Many Talents..

We um . found a Mexican Candy Shop!

& Being the responsible adults that we are.. we had to try everything!

& Then.. Candy in Tow..

We were back to exploring the town and experiencing the Mexican Culture..

[This is secretly how I felt about the first candy we tried.. 

eugh.

It was covered in chile on the outside and was very... different than what we were used to..

& very very different than what Blake was used to .. I made it though just a little more of the sucker.. haha]

After a little bit of wandering..

We finally found where we had been looking for,

& Thank Goodness they were SO excited to see us too!

:)

This was a Mexican Restaurant called PePe's that Blake and I had two people in completely different situations tell us we HAD to go to..

& Although they obviously weren't the BEST picture takers..

They were really good at making food.

 

They made our guacamole right in front of us and Blake and I both agreed it was definitely the best that we had ever had.

De.lic.ious.

[Also if you ever go there.. they give you a ton of food.. Blake and I shared a plate and saved some of our pesos. :) ]

Then after our very festive, fun, authentic feeling lunch..

& Of course a [virgin] Marguerita

We were back on the road.

[& can I just say.. this bridge.. and the power lines.. and some of the safety regulations, or possibly lack of, were VERRRY questionable..]

On our long adventure we got to see beautiful Mexican hotels..

& houses, and people living in their houses..

[I was surprised how many people and windows open there.. and how friendly those people were]

And we just loved getting to see how people live and what life is like in this country..

Then after a little more sightseeing..

[uh yeah.. how cool is this guy.. any guesses to how he floats there all day?]

& after walking on the beach until we were exhausted..
We had to call our Mexican adventure to an end.

But I know that I [& I'm sure Blake was too] was SO grateful for this awesome opportunity to see somewhere new and to have the break that we did from everything..
I also was glad I finally could go to where everyone thinks I am from..
:)
Now.. even if those people don't know the difference between New Mexico and Mexico.. I do.

The Old Mexico..

So first of all lets talk about how worried everyone was for us to come here..

 

Which I think was the source of why we got such an awesome deal on our cruise in the first place..

But then lead to me wondering if I should be worried..

& this guy.. 

[my cute husband..]

Got some great advice from his uncle before he left about how to see Cabo and not pay the thousands of dollars they want you to pay to do everything fun..

[because yes.. we are newly married poor college students.. on a little bit of a budget]

So the first day we get to Mexico right off of the boat I turn around and Blake is talking to the Mexican guy on the side of the pier..

[Who spoke VERY good English and ended up being very nice.. ]

& I'm freaking out like what are you doing get away from anyone who lives here they all just want to kill us and take our money..

[& yes the money part I think probably is true..]

But the guy ends up taking us to this boat he has with a glass bottom so that you can see all of the fish and everything under you!

& he is charging like a FOURTH of what the cruise ship charges for these tours..

So once we had other people from the cruise ship agree to go on it too..

[haha Mom don't be worried..]

We were all for it..

& it was SO cool..

& then he even gave us tortillas so that we could feed the fish and see them right at the surface..

Oh. Boy.

I have never seen such beautiful fish outside of the aquarium!

These little boats [especially driven by the natives] were awesome tour boats and got you super close to everything you wanted to see..

There was an island FULL of sea lions..

& our tour guide kept floating closer.. and closer..

And I was loving it and of course crawling as close to the edge of the boat as I could..

Because it was awesome seeing these creatures closer than I ever had before..

Then once I started thinking we were close enough for one to jump on with us..

 I was like okay okay.. thats probably enough sea lion time..

Because you can see the pacific ocean through this little crevice.

& This I'll give you ONE guess to as what it looks like..

Yes. You're right.. It's Scooby Doo Rock!

 I'm glad to see that everyone in Mexico likes the same cartoons as we do in America..

& Here is the famous Cabo Arch..

The boat was rocking like crazy so it was hard to get a good picture..

So this is the only one we have with both of us and the arch.

& Blake decided then would be a good time to.. BLINK.. Squint. He informed me it was definitely squinting because the sun was bright..

haha

So I guess we can use this picture since no one is blinking.

 

& The other side of this beautiful famous arch..

Then our tour guide came and dropped us off on the beach!

oh and it was NOT just any beach.. it was Lovers Beach.

:)

[It was so funny everyone in Mexico would call to us and be like honey mooners come here.. honey mooners good deal for you..

We are like dang. How does someone look like they are on their honeymoon? haha

Wow Babe.. we just must be lookin SO darn happy]

But then we got to just play for a little while..

& enjoy the beach and the sun..

And just when I was questioning the fact that our tour guide was going to ever come back for us..

He sure did.

:)

Then we definitely had to tip everyone who helped get us on the boat, and drove the boat, and saw the boat..

Then after our little awesome Boat Ride Adventure..

Blake and I decided since we had seen beaches before it would be fun to see Mexico and explore..

& It really was awesome being in a cute little foreign country..

Seeing the different culture..

With just me and my love.

We made the cutest little friend ever..

That probably if I could have I would have taken home.

& Besides for getting lost.. for.. an hour.. or who is really keeping track..

haha

 We had a great time seeing everything.

Even the lost hour was fun..

We had a tour guide direct us to a Museum they had in their Town Square that we had to go to because their was a whale skeleton with "lots of benches"..

& We got there and there were parts of what looked like maybe could have been a whale..

And the museum was free and had squirrel skeletons and things that kind of made me laugh that you wouldn't ever see here.

 It defnitely reminded us of how lucky we are to live in America..

And how much we constantly take for granted.

However I do miss the Spanish music and fun atmosphere there.

Those guitar men.. had proffessional skills.

& We found some suvenirs that we loved and bought for our new house..

[Oh yeah.. that blanket may be one of them..pretty awesome huh.. we thought it said 'Honeymoon in Mexico']

So since my blog is longer than I thought it would be.. and always is longer than I think it will be..

I'll save the rest of Mexico for tomorrow..

So Sunday.. finally after 3 days of driving and  

one late tired Las Vegas night..

 

Blake and I got to Long Beach and embarked on our very FIRST cruise! 

 [unless you feel like the little boat ride to Alcatraz and Disney Land boat rides count]

 

 

So here are all the things from my experience that are awesome about a cruise.. 

 

Getting to relax with the [new, finally] husband by the pool..

With no wedding planning, homework, work, or anything to do but enjoy our time together..

 

 Uh.. Room Service.

Awesome.

  

 One of Blake and I's favorite things at night was coming to the room after dinner or plays and getting to see our clean room with these cute little surprises!

 

We were going to make a collection of them.. but we found that when you don't unfold them they don't give you new ones!

ah. 

So we made sure to mess them up every time we left.

:) 

 

More delicious food than I should ever eat in a week..

& fun fancy dinners every night..

[Where you can have as much as you want and NOTHING costs extra... now that is dinner.]

I got to try Lobster for my first time!

& Blake was a lot more adventurous and ate SHARK, Suishi, Frog Legs, and anything else weird they had on the menu. 

:)

We got to get dressed up and go to fun shows they had on the cruise ship..

[One night they had Mexican dancers from where we had stopped in Mexico come perform a show... now it doesn't get anymore authentic than that.]

& then after we could go hot tubbing and watch the free movies that they had playing all day in our rooms!

They also had this really fun theater type thing called 

'Movie Under the Stars' 

where they projected a movie on the top deck right under the stars 

[haha I bet you didn't see that one comin from the name]

But Blake and I lovved it.

& after all of this Blake would normally convince me to go with him and get free ice cream.

& The Best Part of the Whole Idea of a Cruise?

 

That is just the traveling part!

They take you around the world.

:)

& I finally got to go to Mexico..

After years of telling people I'm from New Mexico and them thinking I am from Mexico and should be speaking Spanish.

I finally feel like I have an understanding of where everyone thinks I am supposed to be from.
